New patch dropped! NASA has a long-standing tradition that the astronauts who fly together on a space mission design their mission patch together. The Artemis II astronauts play on the AII abbreviation as the word “all.” In their patch explanation, the crew emphasizes that the Artemis program is “an endeavor of discovery that seeks to explore for all and by all.”
Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, and mission specialist Christina Koch from NASA, and mission specialist Jeremy Hansen from CSA (Canadian Space Agency) are a mixture of all of humankind. This small group represents great diversity in race, nationality, religion, gender, and career paths. They will be the most diverse group to circumnavigate the moon in history, capturing how when we return to the Moon we return together.
